Ranking every mainline Uncharted game plus The Lost Legacy, from Drake’s Fortune to Among Thieves and A Thief’s End.

Ranking Uncharted is hard because even the "lowest" entry is still a strong action-adventure game with elite set pieces.
So this list ranks the mainline Naughty Dog arc plus The Lost Legacy based on gameplay quality, pacing, story payoff, and replay value.
No bad games here. Only different levels of "I should stop playing at 2 AM, but one more chapter."

Each game was ranked by:
So yes, nostalgia matters a little.
But playability today matters more.

The first game deserves respect for creating the blueprint: Nate, Sully, Elena, ancient mystery, mercenary chaos.
Why it ranks fifth: it is more repetitive than later entries, and combat arenas feel older now. Still, its charm is undeniable and its legacy is massive.

Lost Legacy is the proof that Uncharted works beyond Nathan Drake.
Chloe and Nadine have great chemistry, the Western Ghats structure is excellent, and the pacing stays tight. It ranks #4 only because it is smaller in scope than the full numbered games.

Uncharted 3 is pure blockbuster energy: cargo plane chaos, sinking ship panic, desert survival, zero chill.
Its pacing can be uneven compared to 2 and 4, but the highs are ridiculous in the best way. This is the most "summer action movie at maximum budget" game in the series.

Uncharted 4 is technically and narratively the most refined game in the lineup.
It has better traversal depth, stronger stealth options, gorgeous locations, and the best character closure in the series. If this is your #1, that is completely valid.
It misses the top spot here by a tiny margin because #1 remains the most perfectly paced adventure package.

Among Thieves takes #1 because it is the cleanest total package: pacing, villain pressure, location variety, set pieces, and replayability all hit.
This is the game that made Uncharted legendary, not just promising. It still feels sharp, exciting, and surprisingly modern.
All-timer.

Not in this core ranking scope, but worth calling out:
If you include Golden Abyss in your personal list, that is fair game.

Final ranking:
No matter the order, Uncharted stays one of gaming's most consistent adventure franchises.
You start for treasure.
You stay for the banter, betrayal, and beautifully timed structural collapse.
